Mauricio Lima

Mauricio Camargo Lima is Brazilian. He was born in January 27th ,1968 in
Campinas, São Paulo. From a very early age, he always wanted to play sports.
When he was 10 years, he played soccer, basketball and swimming. But
love for volleyball came in 1982, in seeing Brazil win the vice-championship in
Argentina. With the support of family, in a Club in Sao Paulo, where he began
a successful career. In 1987 he was playing in the team and two years later,
became absolute successful, He played during 14 years, absent only in 1999, a
World Championship.

Mauricio, during his career, won several titles and some of them are:

Best defense in the world championship in Brazil - 90
Best lifter in the world - 92.93
Best player in the Italian Cup - 1993
Best setter South American - 89,91,93
Best player in the world – 95
Best setter of the Barcelona Olympics – 92

In September 2 nd , 2010 Mauricio has
been at our school for the opening of the X
Mazzarello’s Games and he was taken to
his place by our friends Gabriela Barbosa
and Carolina Albernaz, two volleyball
players in our school.

During the opening of
the games, we could see clearly his
emotion with the presentations. He said
he was more excited when we began
dancing "I got a feeling" that was
